General Questions

What do we do with our Grey Water when we’re off Grid camping. View some of the common questions we are asked.

Whether Off Grid or in a Caravan Park stored Grey Water can turn to into Black within 24 to 48 hours and quicker if conditions are hot.

Black is when the enzyme’s and bacteria change to bad ones that are no good for your health or the environment e.g. first thing you’ll notice is the foul smell of the water.

If the Caravan or RV already has the grey water plumbing into a holding tank, the TPW will compliment this by adding food a scrap arrestor when off grid where hygiene is welcomed by Land Holders/Host's.

When Off Grid the option to not only store with no release at certain camp sites, but to transfer immediately you use your grey water fixtures to environmentally friendly irrigation using TPW, also in Caravan Parks were dump points are above the outlet of your fixtures the TPW can pump up hill and as far as you have hoses.

TPW has a built in strainer that captures food scraps. When ready to pack up simply drain left over fluid through the lower drain point, then using a straining ladle put scraps in a zip bag and dispose of in a general waste bin, leaving your site clean for the next traveler, “Leave only foot prints”

Normally dump points are higher than the tank outlet thus won't gravity drain, so rather than blocking access for those needing to get close you transfer your grey water tank contents from a comfortable distance using your TPW.

Simply unscrew tap adapter of pump out elbow, remove cap off low drain and screw on tap adapter on and connect drain hose, you now have a gravity drain system.

Simply disconnect the hose from TPW connect hose and rinse hose, clean the rinse out TPW, 2 jobs at once, saving water. Also you can buy your parts for your drain hose from any hardware store.

Simply install a TPW Back flow Valve at the “Well”, when packing up disconnect snap fitting, take end back to drain point / water supply, connect to tap, then turn tap on and flush clean. Roll up and use click joiner to join both ends together, ready to transport in storage compartment.

  • 12 volt 5 Amp fused power supply to a 50amp (grey) Anderson Plug mounted on caravan / RV or Camper Van next to where the grey water waste pipes come out. If you have permanent 12volt supply on the rear of your vehicle this could also be used with a lead going to TPW
  • 19mm garden hose and fittings, for ease of travel we suggest purchase a 30 metre x 19mm garden hose plus fittings to make 1 x 18 metre, 1 x 9metre, 1x 3metre, with a 19mm hose connector each end and 19mm, coupling this gives you options in length to get you to your camp site discharge point, and also by joining the ends back together after rinsing out and draining no leakage in your storage area (unlike 25mm ribbed and bigger sizes loose stored with open ends making a mess and taking up more room as well).
  • For off grid use a Lawn sprinkler (single hole metal construction work best and are durable) with a 19mm hose connecting inlet.
  • Just a suggestion that we use after prolonged stay using TPW when packing up . cleaning up any solids left in your well, disconnect your power and 19mm hose. Carry the well to an appropriate place you can drain the left over fluid then use a ladle with holes in it to remove the solids and place in a zip seal bag that you can dispose of in a abin at your earliest convenience, only leaving behind foot prints.
  • Just a suggestion - a General Waste Bin
